Clippity Cloppin' Down the Plank Road ~

D.D. Collins owned the Collinsville Plank Road Company and built the plank road from Collinsville to St. Louis. There is not a lot of information about the plank road, so when we find something it is like finding a gold nugget. Here is our latest finding from ~

"The Private Laws of the State of Illinois, passed at the Nineteenth General Assembly ~BEGUN AND HELD AT THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD ~ JANUARY 1, 1855."

Here is the inside front cover and the Act granting the Collinsville Plank Road Company five years to complete construction as recorded on page 467 ~
