SECOND ANNUAL CHRISTMAS GATHERING AT THE D.D. COLLINS HOUSE

Journey back to the mid-1840s to discover and learn about holiday traditions that were born in an era that carry through to our modern day customs.  

 

The D.D. Collins House will be simply and modestly decorated in the tradition of the late 1840s and early 1850s era Christmas and filled with the fragrances of the season and much more!

 
To celebrate our Second Annual Gathering our House Tour will feature: 

 

•  Five different decorated Christmas Trees depicting five different eras of American history

•  Enjoy watching an on-going demonstration of tatting, by Sandee Kane. Tatting was an important craft that turned a house into a home

 

Get into the spirit of the season and join us at our  Second Annual Christmas Gathering at the D.D. Collins House.  Escape the traditions of today by stepping back in time to an era where traditions began.

City of Collinsville Light Up Parade ~

Celebrate Christmas in Collinsville with a parade through Uptown followed by a tree lighting ceremony and family fun at the Collins House!

​

The parade will begin at 5:30pm and will run from Main Street to Center Street to Clay Street.

​

The tree lighting will be held at the Collins House following the parade, and there will be pictures with Santa, Christmas carols by the Collinsville Chorale, and family-friendly activities.
