There Will Be Pumpkins ~

Members of the Collinsville Garden Club had a beautiful day to work in the garden at the Collins House. Gardeners planted 51 hills of pumpkins, 12 hills of gourds, and 9 rows of decorative corn.

If the COVID pandemic gets under control, the Friends is looking forward to hosting a fall celebration day. How are your scarecrow making skills? Perhaps we can help you hone those skills. We certainly can hope that we can have a scarecrow making day.

You may have noticed that a vegetable garden has not yet been planted. Because of the stay-at-home order and the need for social distancing, it was appropriate for the gardeners to not work in the garden. As you know the vegetables have always been donated to the Collinsville Food Pantry and the weekly soup kitchen. Due to the nature of the virus, these entities are not able to accept donations of the fresh produce.

We do hope you have noticed how beautiful the perennials have been this year at both the Collins House and Collins Park.

We will advise when it is safe to once again have the house open for Saturday tours.
